Did you know Rudolph has Blue Eyes?

Wednesday, December 11th, 2013

NOTE_reindeerDid you know that Rudolph has blue eyes? At least this is true in the winter. Even more interesting, did you know that his eyes change to gold depending on the season? You can read all about the blue and gold changing retinas in reindeer in this article.

For an animal that is so familiar to us in winter, it’s probably one animal you don’t think about in the summer too often. It’s not like we see reindeer in our natural habitat.

When it’s winter, you think about Santa and then Rudolph comes to mind soon after. Can you name all Santa’s reindeer?

You can learn all about each one of Santa’s reindeer here. This is where I learned that Vixon has a crush on Cupid and hopes to marry him someday. Who knew?

If after reading this post about reindeer, you decide you’d like one of your own, you can do that… right here. I don’t recommend it. Just connect with Santa’s reindeer on Facebook. Yes, they have their own page.

It’s easier to own some Letters from Lilly stationery with the reindeer design on it. Our reindeer won’t eat your garden and you won’t have to clean up after it each day.

Santa Clause is coming to Town!

Saturday, December 11th, 2010

One of my favorite tasks for Christmas is setting out the cookies, carrots and reindeer food for Santa and his reindeer. You can either sit up and wait for Santa OR you can track him (using your netbook under your covers if necessary).

So settle in and keep a watch on where he is and when he’ll arrive in your neighborhood. On Christmas Eve, this promo will be the actual tracking of Santa Clause.

Shown above is our gift enclosure card with our Santa design. I’m told it’s so popular because it looks like the real Santa.

During the holidays, remember to cherish the good health of your family and friends, keep things in perspective and enjoy the memories you are creating.

Santa Claus is Coming to Town

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

fhp_santa_textDuring this week of Christmas, we at Letters from Lilly, wish you and your family a safe and happy holiday.

Thank you for another year full of creativity, growth, and sheer delight for sharing your personal celebrations with us.

We appreciate every occasion that you allow us to help you announce to your family and friends.

May you all continue to celebrate the positive accomplishments in life and focus on the good, the real, and the happy times shared with loved ones.

Take this time to bake cookies, make ornaments, and give the gift of time to your children. Here is a fun activity any age will enjoy;

Recipe for Reindeer Food:

1 cup oatmeal

1/2 cup flour

1/4 cup rice

1/8 cup raisins

1 T silver and gold glitter

3 mini carrots, sliced

Put all ingredients together in a ziplock bag, take outside at dusk on the 24th of December. Sprinkle on the ground, on the side of your house where there is a chimney in sight. The glitter will attract Santa’s reindeer and will give them something to snack on while Santa fills the stockings… with care.
